Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Scientist to join our team and support environmental surveys, compliance, and monitoring for renewable energy projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, soils, or a related field, and experience in environmental construction monitoring or site restoration.

Job Description

The Environmental Scientist will be responsible for observing and documenting permit compliance during the construction phases of renewable energy projects. This role requires strict adherence to standardized protocols, strong communication with construction contractors, and accurate data collection.

  • Monitor construction activities to ensure permit compliance following Tetra Tech protocols and training.
  • Document findings accurately through data collection forms and daily reports.
  • Communicate effectively with construction contractors and Tetra Tech staff.
  • Assist with environmental and biological surveys as needed, including wildlife, botanical, or wetland assessments.
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • B.S. in Biology, Environmental Science, Soils, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in environmental construction monitoring or site restoration.
  • Experience with NPDES 1200-C permits and/or CESCL (Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead) certification is preferred but not required.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
