Overview

IBP, comprised of Master Halco, Alta Forest Products, and US Premier Tube Mills, is the leading manufacturer and wholesale distributor of fencing products in North America.

Position Summary

The Mergers & Acquisitions Manager will play a crucial role in identifying, evaluating, and executing strategic acquisitions and investment opportunities that align with IBP's growth objectives. This individual will collaborate closely with business leaders, management teams, and external stakeholders to drive the M&A process from initiation to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of M&A projects, including deal sourcing, due diligence, valuation, negotiation, and integration planning.
  • Conduct thorough market research and industry analysis to identify potential acquisition targets that meet IBP's strategic criteria.
  • Develop and present compelling investment proposals to senior management and the board of directors.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel, financial advisors, and other external parties to ensure a smooth and efficient M&A process.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including target companies, investors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory developments, and best practices in mergers and acquisitions.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of proven experience in investment banking or corporate development, with a strong focus on M&A transactions.
  • Deep understanding of financial modeling, valuation methodologies, and due diligence procedures.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal Candidate Attributes

  • Experience in the wholesale distribution or manufacturing industries is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in Japanese is a plus.
  • Proven track record of successfully completing M&A transactions.
  • Strong understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks governing mergers and acquisitions.
