We are seeking a skilled and passionate Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our Surgical Oncology Department at VCA Animal Hospitals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with physical examinations and collect patient histories.

  • Manage medical records, reports, and correspondence.
  • Prepare surgical suites and equipment for procedures.
  • Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures, including patient monitoring, anesthesia administration, and surgical instrument preparation.
  • Monitor general anesthesia, which includes heart rate, end-tidal carbon dioxide, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and temperature.
  • Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient status, taking appropriate action to ensure patient safety.
  • Accurately document anesthesia protocols, patient information, and vital signs.
  • Maintain detailed records of medications administered and any complications or issues encountered during procedures.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper documentation of anesthesia during surgical procedures.
  • Exhibit flexibility in scheduling and multitasking capabilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure a safe and sterile surgical environment.
Collaboration and Teamwork
  • Work closely with doctors and team members to coordinate and optimize patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with the team regarding anesthesia concerns and patient status.

  • Knowledge and experience with handling and administering different drugs and following safety protocols
