Job Opportunity: Veterinary Technician Training Specialist

South Metro Animal Emergency Care is seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician Training Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our hospital staff, you will play a vital role in providing training and education to our team members, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to deliver exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance hospital operations and promote professional growth and development among team members.
  • Provide coaching, education, and mentorship to hospital staff, including leadership, to ensure they are equipped to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with medical director to ensure hospital teams provide quality medical care for pets.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of training for new programs, platforms, and projects as needed.
  • Work with hospital leadership to identify areas of opportunity and develop strategies for improvement.

Requirements:

  • State-recognized veterinary technician certification (LVT/CVT/RVT) with a credential in good standing required.
  • Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) preferred, but not required.
  • Strong technical skills, including placing IV catheters, venipuncture, administering premedication, anesthesia induction & monitoring, patient preparation, surgical nursing, and perioperative nursing care, radiographs, etc.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills with a client-oriented approach.
  • Ability to supervise, motivate, and coach team members.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. The team member must frequently use a computer for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities are required to do this job including close vision. This position requires walking, standing, and sitting for long periods of time. The work environment may include working with aggressive animals that bite and/or scratch. May require flexible work hours including nights and weekends. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted.
