PRODUCTION OPERATIONS LEAD

The following outlines the general nature and level of responsibilities associated with this role. It is not intended to serve as an exhaustive list of all essential functions, duties, and skills required of personnel classified in this capacity. Management retains the authority to modify or expand duties as necessary.

Role Overview:

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations, the Production Operations Lead is a pivotal member of the management team, tasked with formulating both short-term and long-term operational strategies, policies, programs, and objectives.

This role involves close monitoring of daily manufacturing activities through reports, team meetings, observations, and direct interactions to ensure seamless workflow integration, timely production, adherence to budgetary constraints, and optimal utilization of staffing and equipment resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a communication bridge between staff and management to keep all parties informed regarding decisions and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all quality and process protocols at every level within the production division.
  • Facilitate prompt internal responses to operational challenges affecting customer satisfaction and project timelines.
  • Guide and assist team members in problem resolution and the implementation of sustainable corrective measures.
  • Delegate tasks and provide direction to direct reports and colleagues.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives aimed at cost reduction and quality enhancement.
  • Coordinate production activities with procurement, logistics, and project management teams.
  • Oversee or assist in the management of various programs, including ISO compliance, cost reduction strategies, facility security, staffing, and wage administration.
  • Highlight the significance of safety policies and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
  • Guarantee that all production, quality, and safety targets are met.
  • Supervise the calibration schedules for production machinery.
  • Prepare reports and take responsibility for work-in-progress reconciliation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of operational management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing systems and a solid understanding of processes and products.
  • Formal training in electronics through military or vocational education is preferred.
  • Organized and resourceful, with a collaborative approach to implementing improvements and corrective actions.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Familiarity with quality principles and methodologies.
  • Advanced skills in team building and people management, with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to calculate production costs and monitor manufacturing timelines effectively.
  • Adept at providing guidance, setting goals, offering feedback, and delegating authority.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make swift decisions.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Experience with ERP systems, particularly EPICOR, is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and a demonstrated commitment to maintaining them.
  • Awareness of ESD practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong presentation capabilities.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to occasionally lift 25 lbs.
  • Must be eligible to obtain security clearance.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening and background check is required.

Work Environment: This position is onsite and follows a 9/80 work schedule.
