Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in the electrical industry, with a strong understanding of power systems and excellent communication skills. They will work closely with engineers and operations staff to resolve system and design issues, provide training as needed, and develop and maintain operational and procedural documentation.
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience. The ideal candidate will have project management skills, knowledge of current technologies, tools, systems, and vendors, and proficiency with personal computers and automated tools.
Salary and BenefitsThe estimated salary range for this position is $98,200 - $133,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. In addition to a competitive salary, PacifiCorp offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health care, retirement, paid time off, tuition assistance, paid short-term and long-term disability, and paid bereavement leave.
Responsibilities- Provide technical expertise to critical and highly complex substation, distribution, and transmission operation and control functions within the business.
- Develop and modify policies and practices to improve the overall operational effectiveness of PacifiCorp's transmission and distribution system.
- Lead development and implementation processes and procedures to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Evaluate policies, procedures, and other documentation to ensure compliance with company safety procedures, legislative requirements, and NERC reliability standard requirements.
- Supervise local relay technicians, communication technicians, and substation journeymen, and develop and review daily and weekly schedules when required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of five years of directly related experience.
- Strong understanding of power systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Project management skills.
- Knowledge of current technologies, tools, systems, and vendors.
- Proficiency with personal computers and automated tools.
