Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and review financial statement and compliance audits for affordable housing/HUD clients, including for-profit and nonprofit entities under OMB guidance.
  • Conduct compliance testing under the HUD Audit Guide, OMB uniform guidance, and for state agency LIHTC.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate staff to ensure their professional growth and development.
  • Review quarterly financial information to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Determine the best tax strategy to optimize clients' tax issues.

Qualifications:

  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting.
  • CPA certification is mandatory.
  • 5-7+ years of experience at a public accounting firm in the affordable housing/HUD industry.
  • Prior experience with nonprofit returns (990's) and Partnerships (1065's) returns.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
