Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager II of the Disaster Recovery Branch of the Division of Federal Financial Assistance (DFFA), the Program Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day complex activities associated with all phases of administering and implementing the federally-funded Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) and Community Development Block Grant – Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with local grantee programs and projects related to infrastructure, economic development, planning, and/or social services.
  • Develop and implement program policies and procedures detailing the use and requirements of federal funding programs.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to local grantees and stakeholders.
  • Monitor and evaluate program performance and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as public administration, urban planning, or social work.
  • At least 2 years of experience in program management, community development, or a related field.
  • Strong writing, organizational, and verbal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
