Senior Buyer

Allient Incorporated is seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer to join our team in Dothan, AL. As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for managing the expenditure base for materials and/or services to support our purchasing programs.

• Initiate purchase orders and amendments for parts, services, and/or special tools.
• Secure and analyze quotations, negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, and recommend suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness.
• Study market prices and trends, engineering developments, and manufacturing method improvements applicable to assigned responsibilities.
• Interview suppliers to determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics, inventory control, and management.
• Coordinate the planning of recent schedules and inventory control parameters for assigned products and services consistent with ERP requirements.
• Coordinate quality matters and engineering changes/developments between company activities and suppliers.

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a field of Engineering.
• 3-5 years of experience in purchasing.
• Excellent communication skills, both by email, phone, and in person.
• Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and MRP systems.

Predominantly office environment with occasional exposure to the production floor. May be subjected to moving mechanical parts and may be required to wear safety glasses. Some travel may be required.
