Satellite Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in the Command and Data Handling (C&DH) group for satellite missions. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of advanced C&DH systems for satellite missions.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop complex C&DH systems for satellite missions, including command and telemetry subsystems, data handling subsystems, and power distribution and management systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure C&DH systems meet mission requirements, including performance, reliability, and cost constraints.
- Participate in reviews of requirements, design, and test procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Support the integration and testing of C&DH systems, including the development of test plans and procedures, and the execution of tests in both laboratory and flight environments.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system and subsystem specifications, test plans and procedures, and design and analysis reports.
- Stay current on industry trends and advancements in C&DH technologies, and proactively identify opportunities for technology insertion and innovation.
- Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; twelve or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, ten or more years of experience with a masters degree, or seven or more years with a PhD.
- May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
- Satellite command and data-handling architecture; high-speed digital circuit design.
- Embedded processing and controls; analysis, design, and implementation of hardware systems to include digital, analog, and RF is required; guiding a design through development and into production.
- Experience with Altium PCB Design Software, PADS PCB Design Software, SPICE circuit simulation tools, HyperLynx Signal/Power Integrity tools, ANSYS Signal Integrity tools, Atlassian Tools, Microsoft Project.
- Demonstrate technical expertise and application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice with the ability to organize, plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones with some experience in project leadership.
- Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving project environment.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with other departments, customers, government representatives, and/or professionals.
- Capable of representing the organization as a prime technical contact.
- Customer-focused and able to formulate plans based on the development of innovative new designs in resolving advanced technical engineering problems.
- Must be able to work on a self-initiated basis or in a team environment.
- Must be able to prepare and conduct detailed technical presentations and reviews for all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.
The ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance is required. Active Secret clearance is desired.
