Worthington Steel Co is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Internal Audit Intern to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset and excellent communication skills.

The Summer Internship Program is a 12-week program that provides interns with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in internal auditing. During the program, interns will work on a business-driven project, developing a standardized playbook for a specific role or process within the Company.

As an Internal Audit Intern, you will conduct Sarbanes-Oxley, financial, and operational control testing through the execution of audit programs. You will obtain, analyze, and evaluate evidentiary data to form objective conclusions and generate recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform audits by executing test plans as assigned, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness of work procedures.
  • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, identify root causes of issues, and report audit findings to Internal Audit department management.
  • Assist in the preparation of written communications, such as client correspondence and findings documents.
  • Develop knowledge of the Company's industry, major events, and general business/economic developments to contribute to the identification of potential impacts.
  • Demonstrate teamwork through positive attitude, cooperation, and acceptance of additional assignments.
