Position Overview:

As a Management and Program Analyst Supervisor, you will be at the forefront of coordinating national initiatives to ensure the U.S. energy sector is equipped to respond to and recover from emergencies caused by natural disasters, cyber threats, physical attacks, and other risks to energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the response to cybersecurity incidents, leading a team of Cyber Defense Incident responders.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop overarching goals, objectives, and budgets for the program, ensuring effective execution of approved financial plans.
  • Represent the Department of Energy in various panels, meetings, and workshops, supporting engagements with external and interagency working groups.
  • Supervise a team of highly skilled administrative analysts, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and Department of Energy directives.
Conditions of Employment:

Applicants must be U.S. citizens and participate in the e-Verify program. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must certify registration with the Selective Service System or claim exemption.

This position requires physical presence at the designated worksite, with a minimum of two days per pay period. A Financial Disclosure Statement must be submitted within 30 days of entering the position and annually thereafter.

New supervisors are required to complete 80 hours of supervisory training, with 40 hours to be completed within the first year.

Qualifications:

To qualify, candidates must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in federal service. This includes:

  • Participation in emergency preparedness activities, identifying regional needs and energy security concerns.
  • Analysis and projection of changes in workloads, budgets, and staffing affecting organizational operations.
  • Development of performance standards and evaluation of team performance, providing guidance on professional development and training needs.

Experience may include volunteer work through national service programs, which can provide valuable skills applicable to this role.
