Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in a Per Diem Pre-Admission Testing role at Long Island Community Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a smooth pre-admission process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and reassess patients to determine their medical needs and develop individualized care plans.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and provide treatments as needed.
  • Document patient information and care plans in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current NP certification from a recognized accrediting agency.
  • Current New York State license as a registered nurse and NP.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Pediatric Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification.
  • Current National Institute of Health stroke scale (NIHSS) training certification.
  • Current New York State prescription privilege.
  • Current DEA number.
  • Current New York State Infection Control training certification.
  • Completed Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) online training.
  • Current certification by the American Vascular Association (AVA).
  • Current member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
  • Current member of the Nurse Practitioner Association of New York State (NPA).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in pre-admission testing or a related field.
  • Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
