Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Long Island Community Hospital. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with our medical staff to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and reassess patients to develop and implement effective care plans
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and provide treatments as needed
  • Document patient information and progress in a timely and accurate manner
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner educational program approved by the State of New York
  • Current NP certification from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or the American Nurses Credentialing Center
  • Bachelors and Masters degrees
  • Current New York State license as a registered nurse and NP
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Life Support (PALS) certifications
  • Current Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification
  • Current National Institute of Health stroke scale (NIHSS) training certification
  • Current New York State prescription privilege and DEA number
  • Current New York State Infection Control training certification
  • Completed Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) online training
  • Current certification by the American Vascular Association (AVA)
  • Current membership in the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and the Nurse Practitioner Association of New York State (NPA)
