Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the City of Racine. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting the community, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol assigned areas of the city to prevent and detect crime, and to enforce laws and regulations.
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide assistance to the public, including resolving disputes and providing information.
  • Investigate crimes, gather evidence, and interview witnesses to solve cases.
  • Enforce traffic laws and regulations, and provide traffic control and direction.
  • Participate in community policing initiatives to build relationships with the public and promote crime prevention.
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations to share information and best practices.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and at least 21 years old.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass a background check.
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
