Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the City of Racine, WI. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting the community, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain continuous preventative patrol in assigned areas, responding to calls for service and resolving incidents through counseling, referral, or other peaceful means.
  • Enforce laws and ordinances, making arrests and issuing citations as necessary.
  • Conduct preliminary investigations of crimes, protect crime scenes, and perform surveillance.
  • Provide information and assistance to the public, promoting crime prevention through community and educational programs.
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations to achieve public safety goals.
Requirements
  • Must be a United States citizen and at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 60 credits of post-high school education preferred.
  • Must be certified or certifiable as a police officer in Wisconsin or another state.
  • Must have at least two years of experience as a law enforcement officer.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and psychological evaluation.
