Job Title: Class B CDL Equipment Operator

We are seeking a highly skilled Class B CDL Equipment Operator to join our team at Clean Harbors in Monroe, MI. As a Class B CDL Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for the safe transportation of hazardous waste from generators to Clean Harbors facilities and outside disposal facilities, adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) and hazardous waste regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Transport hazardous waste in a safe and efficient manner, following all applicable regulations and company policies.
  • Ensure proper loading and unloading of hazardous waste, adhering to weight limits and utilizing company equipment effectively.
  • Responsible for maintaining daily logs, worksheets, timecards, expense reports, dispatch and trip reports, and vehicle inspection reports.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, Health and Safety procedures, Department of Transportation (DOT), Hazardous Materials/Waste (HAZMAT), and RCRA requirements and regulations.
  • Adhere to assigned milk run schedules of pick-ups and drop-offs.
  • Communicate regularly with Coordinators regarding daily times and demurrage.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and courteous demeanor with internal and external customers.
  • Maintain and clean assigned company equipment, ensuring it is mechanically sound and in good working order.
  • Be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and work during weekends and holidays as required.
  • Keep your training record up to date with all DOT/OSHA and company required training.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of verifiable vacuum truck service within the commercial trucking industry.
  • Possess Hazardous Waste and Tank Endorsements.
  • Possess a Valid CDL Class A or B with X (Haz-mat and Tanker) endorsement and an acceptable driving record.
  • Able to use a Mobile Computer.
  • Able to work with little to no direct supervision and have an aptitude to complete assigned work.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for moving fluids in the vacuum truck services in the oilfield industry.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, and maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge in the operation of equipment used in commercial transportation.
  • Smartphone required for Electronic Logging Device.
  • Complete understanding of DOT's safety program and standards.
  • Possess excellent communications and human relations skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience troubleshooting transportation equipment is preferred.
