Position Summary
As a Property Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in addressing daily financial and administrative challenges within the Accounting Department, ensuring adherence to all Real Estate Commission regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage financial reporting, accounting systems, closing processes, journal entries, reconciliations, GL account analyses, variance assessments, audits, budgeting, cash management, and banking relationships.
- Address daily financial and administrative issues related to the Accounting Department.
- Ensure compliance of the Accounting Department with all Real Estate Commission standards.
- Lead the accounting team and collections staff, including recruitment, performance evaluations, scheduling, training, and motivation.
- Supervise the documentation produced by the accounting team, including forms and educational materials.
- Manage the storage and disposal of property management records in line with Real Estate Commission guidelines.
- Maintain files for property insurance, business licenses, and other necessary permits.
- Act as the administrator for central office computer systems, software updates, password management, and backup processes, collaborating with the network administrator vendor.
- Work alongside the network administrator vendor to resolve software and hardware issues.
- Ensure the accounting software is updated with the latest vendor releases.
- Oversee the daily operations of the Corporate Office, including approving purchases for office supplies and cleaning materials.
- Perform additional related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
- Minimum of 5 years of comprehensive accounting experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in general ledger accounting.
- A minimum of 2 years of payroll processing experience.
- Preferred: Real Estate Broker's license.
- Proficient in Yardi software.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365.
- Experience with Entrata is a plus.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Expert knowledge of all relevant Landlord, Tenant, and Fair Housing laws at the city, county, state, and federal levels.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) with Hybrid Opportunities
Compensation: $56,000 - $66,500 Annually
This is a permanent career opportunity with a competitive salary, bonus potential, and a comprehensive benefits package.
