Job Title: Communications Manager

About the Role:

The Information Futures Lab (IFL) is seeking a skilled Communications Manager to lead our communication strategy and engage diverse audiences in our work. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a dynamic communication plan that showcases our research and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive communication strategy that highlights our research and initiatives
  • Collaborate with our team to create engaging content for various platforms, including social media, websites, and events
  • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, community partners, and other stakeholders
  • Provide high-level support to our leadership team, including knowledge translation, content development, and rapid information sharing
  • Manage our website, social media presence, and other communication tools

Requirements:

  • BA in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field with 7-10 years of professional experience
  • Experience with research translation and audience engagement strongly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong proficiency in web content management systems, social media platforms, and account management tools
  • Knowledge of copyright, image use protocols, and laws governing online posting of intellectual property
