Communications Specialist

The Brown University School of Public Health is seeking a highly skilled Communications Manager to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy to engage diverse audiences and promote the work of our lab.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a communications strategy to promote the work of the lab and engage diverse audiences
- Manage the lab's website, social media, and other digital platforms to ensure consistent branding and messaging
- Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement knowledge translation strategies to share research findings with lay audiences
- Develop and disseminate written and visual content to promote the work of the lab and engage diverse audiences
- Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, community partners, and other stakeholders to promote the work of the lab
- Provide high-level support to the leadership team in the areas of knowledge translation, written and visual content development, and rapid information sharing
Requirements:
- BA in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field with 7-10 years of professional experience
- Experience with research translation and audience engagement strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to quickly produce and edit copy for a variety of platforms
- Demonstrated ability to translate research findings to content suitable for lay audiences across a variety of media and social media channels
- Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines with quality work
- Excellent written and verbal communication, time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience developing and implementing integrated communications strategies that span multiple media and vehicles, including print, web, and social media
