Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Rail Traffic Controller/Dispatcher to join our team at Siemens Mobility. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating train movements, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our rail network, and providing exceptional customer service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate train movements to optimize operations and ensure the security of all train movements and other track equipment/employees
  • Field calls from train crews, municipal authorities, and the public regarding permissions of train operations and emergencies that can occur along the tracks
  • Learn to ask the right questions to gain vital details to determine next course of action and keep everyone safe
  • Work rotating shifts every few weeks, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with shift premium available for 2nd and 3rd shifts
  • Manage multiple monitors to view the many trains operating across the country at any given time, prioritizing and multitasking to minimize delays
  • Adhere to Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulations and learn about the infrastructure of our country's transportation system
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, Post-Secondary education is helpful
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Digital literacy (MS Office Suite)
  • Criminal Background check, Drug Testing (and random drug screens)
  • DOT physical to include hearing test and color blindness eye test
