Position Overview:
We are a reputable healthcare organization seeking a dedicated and professional Healthcare Billing Specialist. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate insurance verification for prospective patients.

The Healthcare Billing Specialist will also oversee the management of billing processes, collections, and follow-up on both third-party and self-pay accounts. This includes maintaining essential documentation, correspondence, and updates to our billing systems as necessary. Identifying issues with uncollectible accounts and performing transaction postings will also be part of your responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure patient financial arrangements comply with established policies.
2. Review admission and financial counseling areas to confirm insurance verification, advance payments, and payment agreements.
3. Process credit card transactions and maintain monthly logs.
4. Organize and distribute incoming correspondence.
5. Keep patient financial records current in both paper and electronic formats.
6. Investigate Medicare secondary payers to ascertain primary insurance for billing.
7. Liaise with the Corporate Central Billing Office regarding inpatient and outpatient billing matters.
8. Provide patients with clear explanations of their insurance benefits and coverage upon request.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a similar role.
- CPR Certification is mandatory.
- Eligibility for a Level II AHCA background screening is required.
