Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnostic Imaging: Perform basic diagnostic x-rays under the supervision of a radiology technologist, ensuring accurate and efficient imaging procedures.
  • Patient Care: Identify and assist patients with questions about procedures, prepare patients for exams, and ensure patient safety in the absence of the radiology technologist.
  • Medication Administration: Obtain medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast media materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist, or registered nurse.
  • Assisting Physicians and Technologists: Assist physicians and technologists in the performance of diagnostic exams based on assigned modality and career pursuits, including procedures requiring the administration of contrast media.
  • Administrative Support: Retrieve patient orders and requisitions, and support administrative or miscellaneous work tasks in the RIS, EMR, or other standard applications required in the workflow for diagnostic exams.
  • Physical Requirements: Requires moderate to heavy physical efforts in lifting and moving patients, equipment, and supplies, with occasional standing, walking, and sitting during normal operation.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED with preliminary coursework toward a certificate or degree in a medical imaging field.
  • Experience: Clinical experience based on the educational program affiliated with the pursuit of a career in medical imaging.
  • Certifications: Medical clerical skills preferred.
