Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Project Manager to join our team at Avcon. As a key member of our aviation infrastructure team, you will be responsible for managing the full scope of work on airport Airfield Lighting projects, from proposal preparation to construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all technical aspects of airport Airfield Lighting projects, ensuring completeness and accuracy of design efforts.
  • Review and coordinate documents for quality control and quality assurance, working with engineers and sub-consultants.
  • Develop and manage project documentation, including plans, specifications, and engineer estimates.
  • Evaluate and adapt standard techniques and procedures to project assignments, formulating and solving problems.
  • Work on multiple projects of moderate to large size, utilizing time management skills to stay within budget and meet deadlines.
  • Prepare proposals, including bid documents, project reports, studies, and other documentation.
  • Attend project meetings and present specific aspects of engineering assignments/projects.
  • Coordinate technical and administrative activities with internal departments and disciplines participating in the project.
  • Ensure project engineering activities comply with firm and contract requirements, supporting overall project schedule, scope, and budget.
  • Interpret contract specifications and resolve conflicts with contractors on matters such as interpretation of specifications, workmanship, quality of materials, and related matters.
  • Maintain project milestones and issues in-progress, preparing monthly project status reports and change orders.
  • Participate in client/contractor meetings, resolving client, engineering, and management project issues.
  • Prepare project scopes, tasks, budgets, and schedules.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering project management.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Proficiency with MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of Federal/State funding and approval processes.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and clients.
  • Ability to organize work, set priorities, meet critical deadlines, and follow-up on assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect privileged client information and documents appropriately.
  • Knowledge of correct English usage, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary.
