Electrical Project Manager Job Summary:

The Electrical Project Manager will oversee and coordinate assigned construction projects from start to finish, ensuring schedules and budgets are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in selecting, hiring, and overseeing employees for specific electrical projects.
  • Supervise projects to ensure work meets quality standards and adheres to specifications.
Key Duties:
  • Provide leadership in initial planning stages by collaborating with clients, architects, engineers, or other involved parties; develop detailed descriptions of jobs and materials necessary to complete projects.
  • Schedule and coordinate projects in logical steps and budget time necessary to meet each deadline.
  • Regularly communicate with Superintendents and Project Managers regarding needs, progress, and concerns.
  • Ensure adherence to budget and make quick adjustments when unexpected complications arise.
  • Plan, coordinate, organize, oversee, and direct activities regarding electrical projects of assigned structures, facilities, and systems.
  • Ensure safety standards and guidelines are followed on the jobsite and that all safety codes are met on all projects.
  • Collaborate with clients, supervisory staff, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve problems, including work procedures, complaints, and electrical or design issues.
  • Manage and lead actions necessary due to delays, bad weather, or emergencies at work sites.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with a variety of people, including owners, managers, designers, supervisors, tradespersons, and craft workers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Thorough understanding of contracts, plans, specifications, and regulations.
  • Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions, work well under pressure, and when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays.
  • Ability to effectively multitask while analyzing and solving problems.
  • Thorough understanding of engineering, architectural, and other construction drawings.
  • Ability to speak both English and Spanish preferred.
Education and Experience:
  • A minimum of five years of electrical construction supervisory experience is required.
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician License preferred, but not needed.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of the jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • May require travel.
  • Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.
  • Must be on call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the jobsite.
