Electrical Engineer Job Description

Cuhaci & Peterson is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for various projects, including commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform electrical engineering calculations and design systems in accordance with established policies, standards, procedures, and codes.
  • Apply practical knowledge and experience to resolve problems and conflicts related to electrical systems.
  • Exercise judgment in the application of electrical engineering principles with minimal to no supervision.
  • Supervise subordinate personnel or assist other engineers or designers as needed.
  • Meet with project engineers and managers to discuss design scope, schedule, budget, phasing, site issues, and design review issues.
  • Estimate discipline man-hours required to complete electrical design requirements.
  • Provide leadership and assign design job functions to designated designers and supervise their efforts in completing projects on time and within budget.
  • Implement system types as selected by the project engineer and provide complete construction documents that match client and project team requirements.
  • Review preliminary and final electrical design with other disciplines for function, clearances, coordination, and final design selection.
  • Perform a final review of electrical drawings.
  • Client contact and quality assurance on projects in coordination with technical managers or project engineers.
  • Mentor and motivate engineering designers I, II, and III.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of work experience.
  • Licensed engineer (PE).
  • Active listening and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient in REVIT and AutoCAD.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent time management and judgment skills.
  • Ability to meet fast-paced deadlines while maintaining quality design.
