Position Overview: At Phalen Leadership Academies, we are seeking dedicated Special Education Instructors who are enthusiastic about fostering an engaging and supportive learning atmosphere for our students with diverse needs. Our educators are committed to enhancing the educational journey of our scholars through innovative teaching strategies and personalized support. As a Special Education Instructor, you will be responsible for designing and implementing tailored instructional methods that cater to the individual requirements of students with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Craft and modify personalized teaching strategies that align with each student's unique learning profile.
  • Conduct various assessments and observations to identify areas where students may require additional or adjusted educational support, including academic performance and social development.
  • Recognize students' needs and formulate corresponding lesson plans and teaching approaches.
  • Create Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for each student, establishing educational objectives and making necessary adjustments to ensure effective learning experiences.
  • Design and deliver lessons that offer stimulating learning opportunities for both small groups and individual students, adhering to the specifications outlined in IEPs and 504 plans.
  • Execute IEPs, conduct ongoing assessments, monitor progress, and adjust instructional methods as needed.
  • Collaborate with classroom and homeroom educators to ensure that each student's requirements are met and educational plans are effectively implemented.

Qualifications:

  • A strong passion for supporting students and families in underserved communities.
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education from an accredited institution, with relevant endorsements if applicable.
  • A valid State Teacher License or enrollment in a credentialing program.
  • Proven pedagogical skills driven by educational standards and data-informed assessment.
  • Experience in utilizing data to inform instructional practices.
  • Demonstrated organizational and technological proficiency to enhance student engagement.
