Vanderbilt University Medical Center Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, you will work in partnership with a physician faculty member to independently diagnose and treat children with endocrine disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain histories, complete physical examinations, and provide appropriate assessments and plans for patients seen in the pediatric endocrinology and diabetes clinics.
- Provide and coordinate follow-up care for patients with endocrine disorders.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests and procedures, and coordinate with physicians according to established protocols.
- Initiate and/or recommend medical drug therapies or other forms of related therapeutic treatments and procedures in accordance with approved protocols/policy for the management of pediatric endocrinology patients.
- Accurately and completely document all pertinent clinical findings, assessments, and plans in the electronic medical record.
- Participate in case management, which may include education, counseling, and referrals when medically indicated.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and perform other duties as assigned by the Division Director.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Nursing/DNP required and graduate of an accredited NP Program.
- 1-3 years of NP experience preferred.
- Prior experience in pediatrics is required.
- Certified NP (FNP or PNP) with pediatric population experience.
- Registered Nurse.
- TN APN certificate/certificate of fitness to prescribe.
