Position Overview


This is a remote role with occasional in-person meetings. Must reside in CA.


Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm

Role Summary: The Quality Coordinator II (Data and Analytics - ACS NSQIP) plays a pivotal role in spearheading quality and performance enhancement initiatives that influence essential clinical processes and patient care operations. Collaborating with managers and physicians within the Quality Improvement department, this position focuses on identifying and addressing clinical challenges to yield both quantitative and qualitative outcomes for our internal and external stakeholders. Key performance deliverables encompass quality, safety, and process enhancement. The role involves executing daily Quality Improvement activities in alignment with accreditation standards, regulatory mandates, and organizational performance objectives. Additionally, this position supports the Quality and Safety Dashboard and develops auditing tools.


This Quality Coordinator will act as a site liaison for the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS NSQIP).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting clinical data abstraction for perioperative patients
  • Following up with participating patients through phone calls or correspondence
  • Validating and submitting NSQIP data
  • Analyzing and discussing the NSQIP Semi-Annual Report (SAR) with the Surgical Performance Improvement Committee and perioperative leaders
  • Leading quality and performance enhancement initiatives that impact core clinical processes and patient care
  • Creating and maintaining dashboards related to quality outcomes and process metrics for perioperative services

Qualifications/Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in Quality Improvement. At least 2 years of nursing or clinical experience is strongly preferred, with perioperative experience being advantageous. A blend of hospital experience and data analysis expertise is essential. Experience collaborating with physicians and healthcare professionals is required. Familiarity with Oracle Cerner EMR is highly preferred. Proven experience in leading or facilitating projects and initiatives is strongly preferred.

Education/Certifications: A Bachelor's degree in healthcare or a related field is required. A Master's degree is preferred. NSQIP SCR certification is highly preferred.

Compensation Information

$76,128.00-$137,030.00

The final determination of a successful candidate's starting salary will depend on various factors, including education and experience relevant to the role.

The pay scale provided for this position is generally applicable to candidates who meet the outlined qualifications and requirements.

Additional compensation may be available for candidates who exceed these qualifications.
