Fitness Club Operations Manager

At Planet Fitness, we're committed to providing a high-quality fitness experience in a welcoming, judgement-free environment. As an Assistant Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring our members receive exceptional service and support.
Responsibilities- Lead team members to complete assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
- Model behaviors to provide an outstanding member experience and coach others to do the same.
- Assist in resolving employee concerns and provide backup staffing support as needed.
- Manage inventory and ordering of club supplies and retail products.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies with the Club Manager.
- Support the Club Manager with hiring and onboarding new team members.
- Assess and respond to emergency situations.
- Greet members and guests, assist with questions and concerns, and promote our Judgement-Free Zone.
- Resolve member concerns and escalate to a Manager as needed.
- Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with inquiries.
- Perform membership-related functions, such as sign-ups, updates, cancellations, and collecting unpaid balances.
- Execute retail transactions with accuracy and drive sales goals.
- Regularly clean and sanitize equipment, facilities, and communal spaces.
- 9-12 months of experience in a customer service environment is preferred.
- 9-12 months of experience supervising and leading a team is preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Willing to become CPR/AED certified (training provided by Planet Fitness).
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Continual standing and moving throughout the club to accomplish tasks.
- Continual communicating in person or on the phone to exchange information.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Will encounter toxic chemicals during shift.
- Frequent cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities.
