About the Assistant Manager Role

At Planet Fitness, we're committed to providing a high-quality fitness experience in a welcoming, judgement-free environment. As an Assistant Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring our members receive exceptional service and support.

Responsibilities
  • Lead team members to complete assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Model behaviors to provide an outstanding member experience and coach others to do the same.
  • Assist in resolving employee concerns and provide backup staffing support as needed.
  • Manage inventory and ordering of club supplies and retail products.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies with the Club Manager.
  • Support the Club Manager with hiring and onboarding new team members.
  • Assess and respond to emergency situations.
Daily Responsibilities
  • Greet members and guests, assist with questions and concerns, and promote our Judgement-Free Zone.
  • Resolve member concerns and escalate to a Manager as needed.
  • Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with inquiries.
  • Perform membership-related functions, such as sign-ups, updates, cancellations, and collecting unpaid balances.
  • Execute retail transactions with accuracy and drive sales goals.
  • Regularly clean and sanitize equipment, facilities, and communal spaces.
Qualifications
  • 9-12 months of experience in a customer service environment is preferred.
  • 9-12 months of experience supervising and leading a team is preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Willing to become CPR/AED certified (training provided by Planet Fitness).
  • Basic computer proficiency.
Physical Demands
  • Continual standing and moving throughout the club to accomplish tasks.
  • Continual communicating in person or on the phone to exchange information.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Will encounter toxic chemicals during shift.
  • Frequent cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities.
