YOUR IMPACT

As a Retail Sales Consultant, you will act as a brand ambassador, ensuring outstanding in-store experiences through positive customer engagement.
In this position, you will utilize your natural problem-solving and sales skills to respond to customer inquiries and provide compelling product recommendations, all while upholding Columbia Sportswear Company's values to enhance customer service and teamwork.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing consumer inquiries regarding product features, benefits, and availability; engage with customers to understand their needs and preferences (e.g., demonstrate and explain merchandise, suggest suitable options).
  • Maintain store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety; retrieve merchandise from the sales floor, stockroom, or other inventory locations.
  • Execute all required cash register transactions (e.g., sales, returns, exchanges, connecting customers to loyalty programs) efficiently and accurately.
  • Contribute to store profitability by receiving, handling, replenishing, and processing incoming and outgoing product flow accurately and efficiently.
QUALIFICATIONS

No specific educational requirements (High School Diploma or GED preferred).
2 years or less of experience in a similar role.
Proficient in operating a Point of Sale (POS) system and other in-store computerized systems.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role frequently involves a dynamic environment that may be physical or strenuous in nature, requiring the ability to move about continuously and adjust/move items weighing up to 40 lbs.
Occasionally, the ability to work in place is required.
Effective communication with others is essential.

Availability to work a flexible retail schedule, which may change seasonally and in response to business trends or forecasts.
At the time of hire, the minimum age requirement is 16 years.
