About the Role

As a Business Planning Manager at SpaceX, you will play a critical role in driving the company's growth and success. You will be responsible for creating short-term and long-term operational plans to guide the organization during its expansion. This will involve analyzing data, providing recommendations, and leading cross-functional decision-making and implementation of recommendations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify Business Opportunities: Develop, track, and execute business initiatives with leadership to improve SpaceX's business outlook.
  • Conduct Business Analysis: Analyze data to identify issues and opportunities related to producing and delivering Starlink to customers worldwide.
  • Coordinate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with teams across the Starlink organization to obtain and manage critical inputs that impact Starlink's growth projections.
  • Own Demand Forecasting: Develop and manage demand forecasts for Starlink products and services, incorporating information from Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, Customer Operations, Engineering, Production, Logistics, and more.
  • Define Department-Level Metrics: Develop department-level metrics and associated dashboards that quantify the health of our operation and influence change across the organization.
  • Manage Operational Process Improvement: Lead projects to improve operational processes across the Starlink value chain, collaborating with all stakeholders involved in sourcing, producing, selling, and distributing the product worldwide.
  • Create Process Maps and Analyses: Develop detailed process maps and granular operational analyses to understand current ways of working and define the future-state of operations across Starlink teams.
  • Drive Database Improvement: Engage in improving database structures to facilitate the creation of reports and analyses.
  • Engage with Leadership: Provide quantitative and qualitative updates on performance and opportunities to the SpaceX leadership team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree: A degree in a relevant field such as business, operations, or engineering.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience creating forecasts and/or projections, 2+ years of experience with SQL and Excel, and 1+ year of experience with project and/or program management.
  • Preferred Skills and Experience: Experience driving change within a complex and fast-moving organization, background in supply chain, manufacturing, operations, engineering, or consulting, and experience creating forecasts and/or projections in a dynamic operation with a large number of SKUs.
Additional Requirements
  • Flexibility: Ability to work long hours and weekends when necessary to support operations and critical project timelines.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel to corporate customer sites, other SpaceX locations, and industry events as needed.
