Job Description:

Ryder is seeking an experienced Senior Level Diesel Technician to join our team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As a key member of our truck fleet maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, basic diagnostics and repairs, and complex mechanical inspections and repairs on heavy duty vehicles.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform standard vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance tasks
  • Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer tools
  • Complete detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Work unsupervised on most tasks and interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
  • Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
  • Work in accordance with all federal and corporate compliance guidelines
  • Act as a mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
  • Complete additional duties as required to support operations
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Three years or more relevant work experience preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred
  • All other certification as required by location
Additional Requirements:
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
