Under general supervision and in accordance with established policies and procedures, you will undertake a variety of tasks associated with the management of overpayments received by UAB Hospital/PFS. These tasks may include, but are not limited to:
- Handling returned refunds, directing insurance payer requests for processing, and assisting the team with the preparation and mailing of overpayments.
- Timely communication of issues to management.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by direct supervisors.
- Demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Utilizing basic computer skills effectively.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience and a general understanding of payor-specific or medical specialty billing.
- Familiarity with CPT and ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding.
