Job Summary:

We are looking for a Paralegal Assistant who will assist attorneys with day-to-day operations, including filing documents with courts in Iowa and Nebraska, file management using Smokeball file management software, and legal forms drafting.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist attorneys with day-to-day operations, including filing documents with courts in Iowa and Nebraska, file management using Smokeball file management software, and legal forms drafting.
  • Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, motions, deeds transferring title, purchase agreements, court forms, memorandum, and SOPs.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis.
  • Monitor legal deadlines and court filings.
  • Compile, organize and analyze legal documents.
  • Interact with clients and other relevant parties, with follow up and persistence to obtain documents and answers as needed.
  • Initiative to complete projects independently.
  • Maintain attorney calendars and schedules with court dates and deadlines.
  • Draft and maintain SOP for legal office procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in paralegal studies or related field.
  • At least four years of experience working in a legal environment.
  • Knowledge of legal research tools and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Smokeball experience a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and very strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Able to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
