Instructor of Healthcare Foundations

Position Summary:
The role involves imparting fundamental principles and concepts related to career technical education skills to students prior to their entry into a Career Technical Training Program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designs and/or executes curriculum and assessments aimed at preparing students for enrollment in a career technical training program, as designated.
- Works in partnership with career preparation personnel and counselors to devise and implement strategies that aim to minimize short-term separation rates.
- In conjunction with the immediate supervisor, formulates and executes measurable and objective goals to assess the effectiveness of the Foundations program(s).
- Collaborates with academic and CTT instructional staff on course scheduling, design, scope and sequence, pedagogy, instruction, and assessment as part of curriculum committees.
- As assigned, creates and implements training achievement records to support CTT Foundations Instruction.
- Employs contextual and experiential learning techniques to deliver engaging, rigorous, and relevant instruction.
- Ensures the safety of students, staff, equipment, and facilities while performing duties. Reports any unsafe or unhealthy conditions immediately to management.
- Maintains ongoing compliance with the DOL Policy and Requirements Handbook along with all corporate and center policies.
- Models, mentors, and oversees student behavior in alignment with the standards of conduct and career success standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
A Bachelor's degree is required.
Must be certified, licensed, or accredited in the state where the center operates, or accredited by a professional trade organization to enable students to earn a primary industry credential in the relevant discipline.
A valid state driver's license is also required.About Horizons Youth Services
