Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Process Engineer to become part of our Service Projects execution team. This role can be performed remotely or from designated locations, focusing on the implementation of process enhancements, upgrades, and additional features. Projects may involve various technologies, including automation, beverage processing (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), food and dairy processing, as well as aseptic and non-aseptic processing solutions. If you are detail-oriented, customer-focused, and enjoy collaborating on small to medium-sized projects, we would like to discuss this opportunity with you.
The responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to:
- Engaging in all project phases, from initial client meetings to pre-award sales support, cost estimation, proposal development, engineering, commissioning, and startup.
- Overseeing specific technical aspects of projects, ensuring that solutions and equipment meet client specifications.
- Managing project phases, activities, and deliverables while adhering to design standards and optimizing engineering designs to fulfill client requirements within established timelines and budgets.
- Proactively identifying potential technical, scheduling, execution, or commercial challenges and making priority decisions to meet project commitments.
- Documenting and maintaining accurate records of client interactions, discussions, and correspondence, along with well-organized technical files, including outgoing deliverables and version control.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant government regulations, safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry standards, including sanitary requirements.
- Possessing a solid understanding of technical processes and equipment design within the food industry.
- Developing Process Flow Diagrams as necessary.
- Evaluating and approving design modifications, specifications, and drawing releases.
- Providing technical support to troubleshoot equipment/system performance and process issues to address client concerns.
- Planning and executing tasks such as testing procedures and commissioning plans, developing systematic approaches based on contractual obligations.
- Preparing Operation and Maintenance manuals.
- Assisting Procurement with vendor selection, technical bid evaluations, and management as needed.
- Collaborating with the team to create project plans, cost estimates, and execution strategies, while helping to generate schedules to meet project milestones.
- Supporting the team in identifying and justifying scope changes, assisting in the preparation of cost/schedule impact estimates and change orders for clients.
- Providing assistance in other departmental initiatives and projects as required.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, or a related field is preferred, with entry-level candidates having up to 7 years of experience, or candidates without a degree having 5-10 years of relevant experience.
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven ability to articulate ideas, provide feedback, resolve conflicts, and enhance areas of improvement in both independent and team settings.
- Proficiency in MS Office software.
- Demonstrated proactivity, personal drive, decisiveness, commercial acumen, communication skills, teamwork capabilities, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time.
