Key Responsibilities:
- Analytics Strategy Development: Formulate and implement a comprehensive strategy and roadmap for clinical and operational analytics that aligns with the organization's objectives, emphasizing improvements in patient care, operational efficiency, and financial outcomes.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Supervise the gathering, analysis, and interpretation of clinical and operational data to deliver actionable insights that inform decision-making across clinical and ACO functions.
- Team Leadership: Direct and manage a team of clinical and operational data analysts, business intelligence (BI) specialists, and data warehouse developers to provide high-quality analytics solutions while fostering professional development.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with clinical, operational, and financial leaders to identify analytics requirements and opportunities, prioritize projects, and support both provider organization and ACO initiatives.
- Data Integrity and Governance: Guarantee the integrity, accuracy, and security of data utilized for analytics, while upholding data quality and governance standards.
- KPI Development: Create and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards for various departments to monitor performance and facilitate continuous improvement.
- Analytics Innovation and Trend Integration: Propel the adoption of advanced analytics methodologies, including predictive modeling, machine learning, and AI, to address complex business challenges related to shared savings and value-based care. Identify and incorporate new data sources and tools to enhance analytics capabilities, stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies in healthcare analytics and data science, and promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Vendor and Partner Management: Oversee relationships with external vendors and partners providing analytics and data services.
- Clear Communication: Articulate complex data findings and recommendations to stakeholders at all organizational levels in a clear and actionable manner.
- Value-Based Care Analytics: Formulate and execute analytics strategies that underpin ACO initiatives aimed at achieving shared savings through enhanced care coordination, quality of care, and cost reduction.
- Population Health Management: Leverage data analytics to support population health management, identifying trends and patterns that inform care strategies and promote overall health improvements.
- Dashboard Creation and Management: Design and maintain PowerBI dashboards for daily use by providers and clinical staff, enabling real-time access to critical data. Develop executive dashboards to provide oversight and support strategic decision-making.
- Data Warehouse Oversight: Supervise the activities of data warehouse developers, ensuring the development, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's data warehouse to facilitate comprehensive and efficient data analytics.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Healthcare Administration, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field; Master's or Doctorate preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in healthcare analytics or data analytics, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Experience in ACOs or value-based care models is highly desirable.
- Technical Expertise: Proven track record of implementing successful analytics strategies and leading large-scale analytics initiatives that drive business value in a healthcare setting.
- Healthcare Data Knowledge: Strong understanding of healthcare data sources, including EHRs, claims data, patient registries, and financial data.
- Advanced Analytics Proficiency: Expertise in statistical analysis, data mining, predictive modeling, and advanced analytics tools and platforms such as SQL, SAS, R, Python, Tableau, and PowerBI.
- Experience with data visualization tools, particularly PowerBI, and developing KPIs and dashboards for various user levels.
- Cloud and Big Data: Familiarity with cloud-based analytics platforms and big data technologies.
- Leadership and Communication Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements and standards (e.g., HIPAA) and healthcare quality metrics and value-based care models.
- Experience with machine learning, AI, and other advanced analytics methods.
- Demonstrated success in using data analytics to drive decision-making and business value, particularly in shared savings and value-based care.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies and industry developments in healthcare analytics.
- Experience in overseeing data warehouse development and maintenance.
