Position Overview:

Collins Aerospace, a subsidiary of Raytheon Technologies, is at the forefront of advanced and intelligent solutions within the aerospace and defense sectors. Our Virtual Avionics Engineering (VAE) division is experiencing growth driven by the rising demand for simulation training software, which is based on authentic aircraft operational flight programs and enhanced with ARINC-610 simulation standards. We are currently seeking a Technical Project Engineer to contribute to our innovative projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to establish and implement product line strategies that align with both customer and business objectives.
  • Act as the main technical liaison for customers and regulatory bodies.
  • Facilitate the release of essential project documentation and relay program updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with support teams to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Plan project scope, timelines, and budgets in line with the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
  • Drive the execution of technical programs and product integration, ensuring the achievement of technical milestones and cost targets.
  • Accurately break down program requirements and oversee the design, development, verification, and validation phases.
  • Provide technical guidance to integrated project teams to implement product line strategies.
  • Manage project scope, change control, risks, and the Change Control Board (CCB) processes.
  • Ensure adherence to product verification, certification, budget, and schedule commitments.
  • Request necessary resources and support the recruitment of suitable technical staff.
  • Assist in conducting market analysis and ensure compliance with budgetary and risk management standards.
  • Collaborate directly with clients to integrate and support software within their training frameworks.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally for customer engagements and industry showcases.
Required Qualifications:
  • A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 5 years of experience; or, in the absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is mandatory due to access restrictions to sensitive information.
  • Experience in systems or software engineering, and/or project management roles.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
  • Proven ability to make decisions impacting cost, schedule, and technical performance.
  • Experience in direct interaction with both internal and external clients, including presentations and problem resolution.
  • Leadership experience is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in program/project/product leadership with accountability for schedule, budget, and technical direction.
  • Proven track record of driving accountability and performance in a cross-functional team setting.
  • Familiarity with products developed using Microsoft Windows Visual Studio & Eclipse, with programming languages such as Ada, C/C++/C#, Python, and/or Matlab Simulink.
  • Experience in lifecycle support for software or simulation-related products.
  • Understanding of systems environments and leading programs through all phases.

Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is between 96,000 USD and 200,000 USD, depending on experience and qualifications.
