Bridge Safety Inspection Structural Engineer at WSP

WSP is seeking a qualified professional to enhance their Bridge Inspection Practice in the Southeast Region. This pivotal role is centered around ensuring the safety and integrity of bridge structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather, organize, and evaluate data from on-site inspections, testing results, and engineering plans for structural assessments.
  • Conduct professional structural engineering tasks and support research and inspection activities.
  • Utilize advanced modeling methodologies to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver project objectives.
  • Assess structural characteristics and provide expert guidance on structural integrity.
  • Create data visualizations and comprehensive reports.
  • Uphold quality control standards and processes.
  • Assist in project scoping and contribute to technical documentation.
  • Perform engineering analyses and surveys.
  • Support the development of risk mitigation strategies.
  • Contribute to the formulation of Health and Safety Plans.
  • Engage with other professionals on enhancement initiatives.
  • Practice ethical decision-making and comply with organizational policies.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience post-education.
  • Engineer in Training Certification (EIT).
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience in infrastructure design and planning.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in technical documentation and office software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
  • Willingness to operate in diverse environments and travel as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Engineering.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Professional Engineer License.
  • Completion of 10-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training.
  • Basic First Aid and Adult CPR certification.
