The Data Science Team Lead position at HP Development Company, L.P. is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to lead the data science team and guide the development of machine learning models. The estimated salary for this role is $190,000 per year, based on industry standards and the location of HP Development Company, L.P.

The Data Science Team Lead will oversee the design, deployment, maintenance, and monitoring of machine learning models, pipelines, and systems. This includes providing technical guidance and mentorship to team members and fostering a culture of continuous professional growth.

The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of job-related experience in computer programming languages, machine learning, algorithms, statistical methods, or a related field. A four-year or graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related discipline is also required.

The Data Science Team Lead will collaborate with business stakeholders to understand use cases, user experience requirements, and goals. They will establish development plans commensurate with these requirements and oversee end-to-end machine learning model lifecycle.

The selected candidate will drive the selection and application of appropriate machine learning algorithms, techniques, tools, and CI/CD pipelines. They will manage headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing products, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and goals are met.

Additionally, the Data Science Team Lead will communicate technical development status and escalate issues to direct managers, program managers, and internal and external development partners. They will manage relationships with internal and external partners, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs.

A key responsibility of the Data Science Team Lead will be to regularly evaluate and consider new applications, use cases, and proofs of concept to keep the organization at the forefront of AI and ML technology. They will provide people-care management for assigned team members, including hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development.
