Position Summary
As a Culinary Team Leader at Food For Thought, you will assist the Chef Manager in supervising the entire food preparation process, ensuring compliance with FFT standards and specific Chef directives (including Prep Lists: Wet pack, Dry Pack, Cold Garnish, Cold HDV).
Your role involves completing all opening and closing duties, adhering to prep lists within designated timeframes, while maintaining efficiency and a clean, organized workspace.
Key Responsibilities
- Delegating daily tasks to kitchen personnel and overseeing their execution.
- Monitoring and managing proper product storage and portion control.
- Ensuring cleanliness and functionality of all kitchen equipment.
- Conducting visual inspections and selecting only the highest quality ingredients for menu items.
- Assisting in maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Properly labeling storage items, facilitating communication, and supporting other tasks as necessary.
Essential Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in culinary leadership roles.
- Proficient knife skills and a solid understanding of cooking fundamentals, kitchen equipment operation, safety, and sanitation.
- Basic math skills for recipe comprehension, measurements, and portion sizes.
- Strong organizational abilities to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English for reviewing menus and prep lists.
- Valid Food Handler or Food Service Manager Certificate is required.
