We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Digirad. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and effective operation of our pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities- Draw doses under the supervision of the Pharmacist and perform selected compounding duties, including WBC labeling, I-131 or 123 I capsule compounding, etc.
- Perform daily instrument and pharmaceutical quality control, following all Company policies and procedures.
- Maintain adequate inventory of pharmaceuticals and supplies, and input daily prescription orders into the computer system.
- Assist the Pharmacist in closing the Pharmacy and setting up for the next day, and may be required to cover Courier runs as needed.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of Nuclear Pharmacy Technician program or approved equivalent helpful.
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician required.
- Basic computer knowledge and ability to communicate with staff to effectively train and teach procedures for the safe handling of radioisotopes.
- Ability to operate monitoring devices, dose calibrator, and conduct quality control.
- Basic math skills, including algebra, and dexterity to manipulate syringes.
This is a full-time position with working hours of 3:00am - 11:00am. The job requires standing (60%), sitting (10%), and walking (30%). There is limited radiation exposure during radiopharmaceutical prep and packaging when ALARA is followed. Performance of job duties has a reasonably anticipated risk of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens or other infectious materials.
