Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

As an Early Childhood Education Program Advisor, you will play a vital role within various early childhood teams, offering expert guidance and technical support in the following areas:

  • Engaging in collaborative efforts with internal teams (e.g., Special Education Team, Early Childhood Preschool Team) and external partners to implement IDEA Part B - 619 within a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS).
  • Participating in scheduled and spontaneous meetings, attending training sessions, and reviewing relevant materials.
  • Ensuring that the Department of Education's initiatives align with agency priorities, support early childhood contexts, and incorporate evidence-based practices through implementation science.

Additionally, you will:

  • Support the state-level coordinator for the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part B by coordinating with various agencies and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to federal and state reporting tasks and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with external technical assistance teams to inform decision-making processes.
  • Represent all pertinent federal and state requirements in departmental initiatives.
  • Maintain professional growth through ongoing research, program visits, and participation in educational activities.

Work Schedule

The standard working hours are from 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., Monday through Friday, with occasional travel required.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • A four-year degree and five years of relevant experience in education or administration.
  • A master's degree and three years of teaching or administrative experience.
  • Seven years of professional experience in finance or auditing with appropriate credentials.
