Position Overview

The Easter Seal Society of Iowa is excited to announce an opportunity at the Bob and Billie Ray Child Development Center.

This role involves engaging with children aged 6 weeks to 5 years in various educational activities, fostering meaningful connections with both the children and their families served by the Child Development Center (CDC). The Bob and Billie Ray Child Development Center offers an inclusive environment where children with and without disabilities can learn and thrive together.

In addition to the rewarding experience of working in this distinctive setting, our Child Development Center participates in T.E.A.C.H. (Teacher Education and Compensation Helps), which provides a scholarship program to assist employees in completing their degrees while gaining practical experience. This is an excellent opportunity for those pursuing early childhood associate or bachelor’s degrees to reduce educational costs.

Furthermore, employees at the CDC can take part in the Child Care WAGE$ IOWA program, which offers salary supplements based on formal education levels and commitment to the program after six months of employment.

It is also noteworthy that full-time childcare employees qualify for Child Care Assistance (CCA) regardless of income.

We are currently seeking full-time candidates with prior childcare experience. Available positions include a full-time morning role and a part-time position from 10 AM to 2:30 PM. Additionally, we are looking for a lead teacher with an early childhood education degree or significant experience to work across various age groups.

The starting wage for this position is $14.75 per hour, increasing to $15.00 per hour following a successful 90-day orientation period.
