Position: Senior Financial Application Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in an agile and collaborative setting to design, implement, and test a cloud-based financial application.
  • Participate in comprehensive project planning across various functional areas, including DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, Database Administration, and Product Management.
  • Develop technical user stories and collaborate with the Scrum Master to establish sprint objectives.
  • Contribute to product planning discussions, offering insights on system options, risks, cost-benefit analysis, and impacts on business processes.
  • Collaborate closely with solution leads to ensure all systems align with IT strategy and comply with security standards.
  • Work alongside product owners to clarify business feature requirements.
  • Design, build, and configure cloud financial front-end and back-end processes to fulfill business needs utilizing AWS services such as Lambda, Postgres, Step Functions, and API Gateway.
  • Create unit and integration tests to validate functionality and maintain code quality.
  • Conduct peer code reviews to ensure high-quality code and adherence to best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in Java programming.
  • Comprehensive understanding of information systems and application architecture, including presentation, business, and data services.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and self-learning capabilities.
  • At least four years of experience in application programming and development.
  • Familiarity with financial and accounting principles; experience in the banking sector is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage the complete feature functionality development cycle from requirement analysis to deployment and operation of applications/services in a cloud environment.
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Proficient in designing, implementing, testing, debugging, and maintaining source code and software applications using Java, SQL, Angular, TypeScript, and Terraform.
  • Extensive experience in REST API development within a cloud environment, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Proficient in working with relational databases, including Postgres and Oracle.
  • Strong background in unit and integration testing methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively conveying design concepts and strategies to all stakeholders.
  • Experience with Agile Software Development methodologies.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or a Green Card holder with the intent to become a U.S. Citizen.

Base Salary Range: Min: $113,600 - Mid: $147,600 - Max: $181,600

Final salary and offer will be determined based on the applicant's background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
