Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to perform routine maintenance work for the Parks Department. As a Parks Seasonal Laborer, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to seasonal operations, including grounds maintenance, building maintenance, and custodial work.

Responsibilities
  • Perform grounds maintenance tasks, including mowing, edging, trimming, planting, grooming, and chalking athletic fields.
  • Conduct building maintenance tasks, including repairs using various hand and power tools or equipment.
  • Perform custodial work, including sweeping, mopping, painting, cleaning, picking up waste and debris.
  • Help set up and take down special events materials.
  • Collect and dispose of yard waste materials using City vehicles and equipment.
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have a high school diploma, GED or HSED.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a driving record review, criminal background check, and post-offer drug screen.
Working Conditions

Work is done mainly outdoors and may require frequent exposure to adverse environmental conditions.

Physical Requirements

Tasks involve the regular and at times sustained performance of working over rough or uneven surfaces, bending, stooping, working in confined spaces, and lifting or carrying moderately heavy items and occasionally very heavy items.

Method of Selection

The City of Kenosha will analyze the applicant's education, training, and experience. Written, oral, and/or proficiency exams may be required to establish eligibility.
