Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be accountable for:

  • Formulating the strategy and crafting Risk transformation updates for senior management and board members, including the creation of a monthly Transformation Executive Dashboard that showcases program status, achievements, and significant challenges.
  • Structuring and preparing strategic governance forum materials for Risk & Control transformation, ensuring compliance with the requirements set by the central transformation program office.
  • Developing materials for various updates to regulatory bodies and contributing to regulatory Quarterly Progress Reports detailing the advancements of the Risk & Control transformation initiatives.
  • Conducting strategic analysis and reporting on program health and management, including forecasting program progress to identify areas needing heightened focus and reallocation of execution resources as necessary.
  • Leading the creation of ad hoc reports for the Risk Execution Lead, Head of Enterprise Risk Management, and Chief Risk Officer concerning Risk transformation.
  • Reviewing quarterly resource adequacy for Risk transformation, collaborating with program leads to document and clarify variances from the plan.
  • Facilitating the identification and resolution of risks and issues at the overarching Risk & Control transformation program level.
  • Monitoring and tracking program risks that may affect delivery, escalating concerns to relevant stakeholders as required, and ensuring that documented mitigation strategies are appropriate and adhered to.
  • Assisting in the identification of interdependent elements across the Risk transformation plan and other transformation initiatives, highlighting risks and issues that may arise in the Risk transformation plan due to challenges encountered in other areas.
PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications:
  • 7-10+ years of relevant experience in the Financial Services sector or Big Four consulting is required.
  • Experience within a highly complex, global financial institution or related industry is essential.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at senior management levels.
  • Must exhibit a commitment to quality and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to think strategically, analytically, and creatively solve problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with senior internal clients and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with evidence of collaboration across large organizations, including a proactive and transparent approach in communicating issues and requests.
  • Understanding of relevant banking regulations and supervisory expectations for large, complex financial institutions, particularly in the risk management domain.
  • Ability to rapidly familiarize oneself with multiple topics concurrently (e.g., risk frameworks, processes undergoing remediation/transformation) to understand program objectives and communicate them effectively.
  • Preferred prior experience and understanding of one or more risk management disciplines in a large global banking environment (e.g., operational risk, credit risk, market risk, risk identification and assessment, risk appetite, etc.).
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills - capable of identifying and influencing key decision-makers across various levels and functions within the organization; adept at diffusing conflict and working towards consensus.
  • Well-developed listening skills and a strong capacity to engage at the senior management level.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with the ability to make reasoned decisions under pressure.
  • Proven track record of managing internal relationships and demonstrated experience in leading sustained change and change management initiatives.
