Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Research Unit Lab Specialist to join our team at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics Authority. As a key member of our clinical research team, you will be responsible for performing laboratory tasks, verifying provider orders, and coordinating communication with study teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory tasks, including sample processing and kit preparation, according to established protocols and procedures.
  • Verify provider orders for research samples and UW Health labs required for upcoming CRU study visits.
  • Receive and process research specimens, ensuring accuracy and completeness of labels and paperwork.
  • Coordinate communication with study teams regarding research kits and sample logistics.
  • Maintain the CRU sample log, tracking sample pick-up and storage.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some post-secondary education in a healthcare or related science field preferred.
  • Minimum six months of experience in a laboratory or healthcare setting; one year of experience preferred.
  • Experience with sample collection and processing, quality assurance, and good laboratory practices.
  • Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification or equivalent preferred.
