Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at RTX. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes to ensure high-quality products are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the final assembly of major end items
  • Drive continuous improvement through projects aimed at improving cycle time, reducing ergonomic risk, automating processes, and reducing costs
  • Develop, maintain, and review manufacturing data packages, including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool and fixture designs
  • Work cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, quality, and design teams to implement robust processes for continuous improvement
  • Make recommendations concerning the acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materials to support renewed manufacturing capability
  • Review and validate recommendations regarding manufacturability of existing and future products and advise modifications or adaptations to address quality, customer, product, or productivity constraints
  • Implement a system to proactively manage equipment failures
  • Leverage manufacturing innovations to improve cost, delivery, and quality of high-volume production lines
  • Provide real-time technical support to manufacturers and fabricators, both in-house and in the supply base
  • Lead corrective action investigations to prevent recurrence of issues
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 5 years of prior relevant work experience or an advanced degree in a related field and 3 years of prior relevant experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active DoD security clearance
  • Technical drawing interpretation and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) skills
  • Proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools (preferably CREO/ProE) and/or simulation tools
  • Experience with military and industry standards
  • Conducting safety/ergonomic assessments
  • Familiarity with standard material handling practices, especially as they pertain to Electrostatic Discharge mitigation requirements
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word, etc.)
  • Proven written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented individual with an ability to work in a team environment and with minimal direct supervision
  • Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to work across disciplines
  • Innovative mindset that drives continuous improvement and keeps pace with advances in technology
  • Excellent organizational skills with fine attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
